Homemade Iced Coffee

I love iced coffee, but 1) because I’m broke, and 2) because there’s no longer a Starbucks across the street, I decided to try my hand at making my own. I used this recipe from Pioneer Woman, but adjusted the quantities, because 8 quarts of iced coffee seemed like too much, even for a coffee lover like me.

I started with pre-ground coffee (practically a sacrilege in this house). I bought the cheapest I could find so if I messed it up, I wouldn’t have wasted lots of money.

I dumped the ground coffee into the biggest vessel I could find.

Then I added 21 cups of water (for the 300 grams of coffee) and stirred it around. Yum, coffee soup!

Then I put a lid on it and left it overnight. The next day, I dumped it through a mesh strainer lined with paper towels.

Then I refrigerated the remains. When it was chilled, I filled a tall glass with ice and added my concentrate.

Then I topped it off with milk, added some sugar, and voila! Homemade iced coffee!
