What books does Toby have checked out from the library!
- Native Trees of Canada by Leanne Shapton. A graphic novel that consists of simple illustrations of leaves along with text indicating the tree they belong to.
- TinTin in America by Herge. Lately, there’s been a fair bit of controversy over this book due to its racist portrayals of Indigenous peoples. The library I work at decided to keep the title, but move it from the juvenile collection to the adult collection, which I feel like was the right choice.
- The Soupmaker’s Kitchen: How to Save Your Scraps, Prepare a Stock, and Craft the Perfect Pot of Soup by Aliza Green. We are definitely on the way out of soup season, but Kevin spotted this when he came to pick me up one day, so I took it out. Will have to remember it for next fall…
- We Are All Feminists by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. This caught my eye on the new book shelf as I’m a big fan of this author. I believe this is the transcription of this TED talk.
